What to Expect During a UK University Life
Beginning college is a significant new stage in your life. The days of having your every moment planned out by your school's schedule are long gone, and if you decide to move away, so are the days of returning home to some of your mother's food and a made bed. Here are a few things to anticipate or keep in mind as you navigate university life in the UK. Living independently may be one of the biggest learning points at university and here are a few things to look forward to or bear in mind during your UK university life.
Grocery shopping and cooking:
Depending on your lifestyle, it may be necessary for you to budget carefully if you want to eat properly. You will have money from student loans. For the first year, most institutions offer housing for students, but very few also offer meals, which will spare you the trouble! If you do get to cook for yourself, though, you have the freedom to do so whenever you choose. There are many student cookbooks out there to inspire you, so try to get some nutrients in there and get creative!
Becoming a friend:
The fact that you won't have the friends you had at home is perhaps one of the most unsettling aspects of moving abroad. Though it might seem intimidating, keep in mind that everyone is trying to make friends. During freshmen week, there are typically activities to help you meet new people. A fantastic way to meet individuals who share your interests is to join organizations and clubs that you are interested in.

Cleaning it up:
Even though cleaning may be tedious, you should nonetheless do it. Try to set aside some time each week to clean your room, and if you share any common areas with others, such as kitchens and bathrooms, create a schedule to make sure everything gets done.
